About the Experience

Immerse yourself in the day-to-day life of a working farm with our farm experiences at Harlings! Each two-hour session is just £20 per person and offers hands-on activities that are both fun and educational – from feeding the animals to shearing, kidding, farrowing and even kittening! Or, you could delve into horticulture, woodland management, and discovering the natural environment and what lives there.

If you would like to book, please submit this enquiry form and we will get back to you with suitable dates for the experience you are interested in. Availability depends on factors such as weather, seasonality, and specific farm needs like hoof trimming for horses and sheep shearing.

  1. Sheep: Have you ever wanted to try your hand at sheep shearing? Learn about foot and general care for our fluffy friends!
  2. Equine: Get up close and personal with equine care, handling, and watch an impressive farrier demonstration.
  3. Goats: Spend quality time with our playful goats. Learn about their unique characteristics, kidding, and general care.
  4. Pigs: Meet Barbara, Betsie, and Babe! Dive into the world of pig farming with activities like pig weighing, farrowing & care.
  5. Poultry: From ducklings to egg collecting, discover the fascinating world of poultry care and management.
  6. Woodland: Join us in our private woods to learn about and undertake essential woodland maintenance.
  7. Natural Art: Let your creativity flow with our natural art experience, using products from the farm to create a masterpiece.
  8. Environment: Become an explorer on our farm, identifying insects, birds, fungi, and flowers. Use our environment to expand your knowledge of nature.
  9. Worms: Learn about the life cycles of worms, perform worm egg counts, and even test samples under a microscope.
  10. Horticulture: Get your hands dirty with our horticulture session. Learn the secrets of growing your own food and flowers.
  11. Cattle: Help us move Heidi and Molly, our friendly cattle. Learn about their breed, care, and experience TB testing first-hand.
  12. Cats: Are you mad about cats? Spend time with and learn about our British Shorthair cats and kittens.


Our farm experiences are suitable for individuals aged 8 and above. Children under 12 must have adult supervision, and carers and supervising adults attend for free.

Join us from 8.30-9.45am to help wake and feed the animals their breakfast. This unique experience costs £7.50 per person, with a maximum of 10 participants (children 2 years and under free). Book early to secure your spot in this delightful morning routine with our beloved animals.

Help us find, feed, and settle the animals for bedtime from 5-6.15pm. This relaxing evening activity is priced at £7.50 per person, with a maximum of 10 participants. It’s the perfect way to end the day, connecting with our animals in a serene environment.

Experience pony grooming, handling skills, and agility with our small equines from 10.30am-noon. This hands-on session is £25 each, limited to 4 participants, and is suitable for those aged 6 and older. Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult. Enjoy quality time with our gentle ponies in a small, focused group.

Dive into fascinating farming facts, enjoy a woodland hunt, and meet the farm animals from 2-4pm. This immersive farm tour costs £20 per person and is best suited for individuals aged 5 and above. With a maximum of 16 participants, it’s an engaging and educational experience for all.
