From the Farm

British Heritage Berkshire Pork

At Harlings, we’re committed to providing you with delicious and ethically-sourced products that are good for you, your family and the planet, dedicated to sustainable practices and animal welfare. On our small, family-run working farm in the Devonshire countryside, our British Heritage Rare Breed Berkshire pigs roam freely in acres of lush green pasture and woodland, treated with the dignity and quality of life they deserve.

More succulent and flavourful than standard pork, and known for its superior quality, Berkshire pork is prized for its juiciness, flavour, tenderness and marbling. We offer a range of select cuts including delicious sausages, bacon, pork shoulder and belly pork, with proven provenance and traceability so that you know exactly where your meat comes from – straight from our farm to your fork.

Our Conservation Efforts

Our livestock consists entirely of British Heritage breeds within the 'Priority' and 'At Risk' categories of the Rare Breeds Survival List, carefully chosen and nurtured to support their conservation. This also ensures that our produce has proven provenance and traceability, from farm-to-fork.

British Heritage Rare Breed Dorset Horn Lamb Meat

The Dorset Horned sheep breed produces a premium grade lamb, mutton and hogget. The meat is consistent, very mild and tender tasting. It is succulent and has a mutton sheep taste.

The Dorset Horned Sheep is a medium-sized breed of domestic sheep native to the county of Dorset in England. They are one of the most popular breeds of sheep throughout the world due to their hardiness, easy lambing and ability to thrive in temperate climates where other breeds would struggle. This results in their meat being leaner than other breeds with less fat content, which makes the meat flavourful and tender.

British Heritage Rare Breed English Goat Meat

Goat meat is a great source of nutrients, including protein, iron, vitamin B12, zinc, and potassium. It’s also low in total and saturated fat compared with other forms of red meat – so for the people who are looking to get a daily dose of energy and desire to stay healthy, this meat is an excellent choice.

With a rich flavour that pairs well with almost any sauce or spice blend, goat meat is perfect for any meal—from breakfast sandwiches to casseroles. You can serve it as a main dish or as an appetiser.
