We are delighted to share that Abbie, Will and Daniel were recently recognised at the Addington Fund Devon Farm Business Awards.
The Richardson family were nominated for the Best Family Farm Award and were selected as finalists, achieving a place within the final three businesses shortlisted in this highly respected category.
Daniel was also recognised as a finalist in the Rising Star Award, acknowledging his passion, dedication and positive attitude and progressive approach towards farming and the future.
During the awards evening, the presenters spoke highly of the exceptional work being carried out both at Harlings and through Daniel’s Ride CIC. So impressed were the judges by the family’s commitment to supporting others and creating a positive impact within their community, they were unexpectedly presented with the Special Impact Award.
This recognition reflects not only the family’s dedication to sustainable and environmentally responsible farming practices, but also their ongoing work in environmental awareness, habitat restoration and education.
Particular recognition was given to their work supporting SEND children, young people and adults through wellbeing, educational and community-based activities, helping to create opportunities for individuals to develop confidence, skills and a sense of belonging within a rural setting through Daniel’s Ride CIC.
Those who know Abbie, Will and Daniel will appreciate that they approach everything they do with humility and without expectation of recognition. However, this award serves as a fitting acknowledgement of the meaningful and lasting difference they continue to make within agriculture and beyond.
The work Abbie, Will and Daniel have done has been recognised for creating “a farm where everyone belongs”, reflecting their commitment to community, inclusion, sustainability and the positive impact farming can have on people’s lives.
The entire Harlings and Daniel’s Ride CIC teams are incredibly proud of all the hard work you do – not only for people that visit here, but for those who work here. You thoroughly deserved this recognition.
